Last year my blood sugar was high, I had high blood pressure and I was getting vertigo quite a bit. I had a lot of pain in my hips and back and I was taking more and more pain medication. I decided I had to do something. I thought if I could just move enough, I would lose weight.

My girlfriend told me it was the food I was eating, but I didn’t believe her at first. I thought I ate pretty well. She had done Jenny Craig and had a lot of success before, so I decided to give it a try.

When I first went to Jenny, I felt nervous and excited. There was a part of me that thought, ‘Can I do this?’ But there was another part that thought, ‘This is going to be a good change for you.’ It felt like a new chapter.

When I got all the food in the beginning, it felt counterintuitive — I was used to cutting my calories way down and getting more activity to lose weight.

It took me a while to get used to eating so much and so many times a day. Jenny taught me how to balance my meals, how much to eat and when I should eat. It was what I should have been eating for my activity level, age and the goals I had. It took some getting used to, but once I did, I was on a roll.

Once I started eating the proper amounts, the weight came right off.

I liked what I was eating. I liked the regimen of it. I’m a single guy and getting to the grocery store or preparing meals isn’t always feasible because I work late. Normally I would go get fast food so Jenny is much healthier.

I love the Pizza Pepperoni, the Blueberry Pancakes & Sausage and the Cinnamon Rolls.

I love the Carrot Cake and the Chocolate Lava Cake.

I’ve practiced karate for several years and when I started losing weight, almost immediately, my flexibility, movement and stamina increased. I’m going to be testing for my Black Belt in September — I’m training for it and I feel great.

Since I’ve been on Jenny, my energy has gone way up. My blood pressure is normal now. I haven’t taken any pain medication in months. I stopped snoring. I feel in balance. My doctors are very happy.

I lost so much weight that I had to get rid of all my suits — the tailor said they were too big. I’m a lawyer so I have a lot of them. I was able to take all of my clothes to a place that donates them to less fortunate individuals who need them for work and interviews. That was one of the most rewarding things about this journey.

If you can get what you eat under control, you can do anything. I have so much more confidence, and a feeling of well-being. It is a new chapter of my life. Losing the weight changed everything.
