"When I learned about Max Up from Jenny Craig – I immediately thought 'Sign me up!' I knew I needed a partner."

I lost a lot of weight on Jenny Craig about 10 years ago and kept it off until I developed some unhealthy eating habits when I was pregnant with my son. When he was about two months old, I decided that I didn’t feel good and I wanted to get back on track, so I’d start dieting for a day or two and then stop. I had spiraled and I just couldn't get it going again because I didn't know where to start. I was very frustrated with myself and not really understanding why this time was just so difficult for me. After probably 10 different attempts, I just gave up. My confidence got really low and I didn't feel good about myself. The worst part is that I had this precious baby boy and I wasn't enjoying him the way I wanted to because any activity would wear me out so much.

That's about when I learned about Max Up from Jenny Craig – I immediately thought "Sign me up!" I knew I needed a partner. That was the turning point for me.

I don’t have to figure it all out on my own.

It’s been life-changing having a coach that stays close to my journey, understands what my life entails, reminds me that every day will not be perfect, and gives me really helpful practices that have worked for others. I don’t have to try to figure it all out on my own! For example, when I went back to work after Covid, there was no break area anymore with a refrigerator or a microwave. My coach showed me a great workaround that made it possible anyway. In another instance, I was going to be traveling (and eating out a lot) with some executive partners from my company. I was worried about not being able to eat my Jenny food, and she helped me see that real life is going to have these kinds of moments. She reminded me that the program is designed to teach me how to eat. In the end, she gave me the tools to be able to eat the same things that they did but in a very different portion, and I felt in control which felt so good.

Max Up is a holistic approach to wellbeing.

I want to be the best mom, the best wife, the best daughter I can be. And the only way I can do that is by taking care of me from the inside out first. In the past, my attempts were very one-dimensional. I've really enjoyed that Max Up is a holistic approach to wellbeing – it includes water intake, activity, portion control, accountability. So when I think about Maxing Up my life, it's about taking accountability for my actions and regaining my happiness.

When I first heard about how holistic the program is, and that it included weekly movement guidance, I was all in. We did five days of 30 minutes of some type of simple cardio. And there were three days of resistance band movements that helped strengthen muscles that I hadn't used in a really long time.

I use the Hey Max! Scale which I love because it syncs directly to the app. The Jenny app is amazing because it tracks how you’re doing and shows you your progress. It’s like I have this roadmap that guides me with my busy, on-the-go lifestyle and makes it so I don’t even have to think. Being a full-time working mom and wife, I don't have much time to think about a whole lot else. Having everything encompassed in one workout + meal plan + coach, all within the app, makes getting to my goals easy breezy!

The food variety is great too. There’s a huge variety on the menu, so every day I’m able to get something different!

"My biggest milestone is that I can play with my son."

I definitely feel proud of the milestones I’ve been able to reach in such a short time. The first one was actually getting on the scale and facing my truth. Another was watching how fast the weight was coming off in such a short time. But the biggest reward has been being able to play with my son. Before I knew it, I was putting my little guy in his stroller and going for two and three-mile walks! I can get on the floor with him and not be winded getting up. I’m able to run upstairs to where he is and not need a break when I get to the top.

"I've lost so much weight and found happiness again."

On this journey, I found purpose again, not only as it related to my baby, but I found it for me. I’ve lost so much weight and found happiness again. I feel like I'm regaining my confidence. I want to be out around friends and family again. I'm not hiding behind dark clothing anymore. To be able to be with people I care about and feel in control has brought me so much happiness again.
