I’ve always searched for something that I thought would work.

My weight has always fluctuated — I’d go up and then come back down. Rather than try programs that were healthful and sustainable, I always went for the quick fix like a magic pill.

For so long, I was so worried about gaining weight that I would skip breakfast, and then only eat a little bit for lunch. By the time I got to the evening, I was snacking on all kinds of things right before going to bed. Since I was skipping meals, I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t take the weight off.
