I was on vacation in Hawaii with my parents when it hit me. I was eating a basket of fries, hiding in a black swimsuit cover-up, and feeling miserable when I realized that I’d completely lost myself in the toxic relationship I was in.

I was constantly putting my needs on a back burner and allowing myself to be manipulated to get along with my boyfriend. I had gained a good deal of weight in the relationship. We were very sedentary and constantly ate fast food, ice cream, candy, and anything else to make ourselves feel better.

I admitted to my parents and myself that I’d lost the spark in my life. It was at that moment, hearing myself say those words out loud, that I decided to end that unhappy relationship and change paths to choose self-care. Step one was taking control of my weight. My parents and I immediately researched weight loss programs and we all agreed that Jenny Craig was the way to go.

I knew I didn’t want to cook or calculate portions. I wanted instruction on what to eat and a schedule to follow. I set up an appointment as soon as I was back from vacation. The moment I walked into my Jenny Craig center, I started my chapter of self-love.

I was excited to take the first step to self-care and to regain control over my life. I followed Jenny Craig’s Rapid Results program and met with my personal coach each week. The program doesn’t just provide ready-to-go food, but it’s also a support system that leads to consistent healthy choices. Jenny Craig helped me change my relationship with food.

My coach made it easy for me to stay consistent and true to the weight loss process.

I started losing weight from the start by eating a variety of Jenny Craig food and healthy options that I truly enjoyed. I’m following the maintenance program now, and I prepare my own meals using the guidelines I learned throughout the program. I still eat my favorite Jenny Craig food, too! I can’t imagine my morning routine without my Cinnamon Coffee Cake and my hot coffee!

My coach is so supportive! I looked forward to meeting with her every week, stepping on the scale, and celebrating my weekly successes. She motivated me to put a pretty stone in a Mason jar for every pound I lost. That gave me a beautiful visual representation of my progress and showed me that every pound counted.

I lost 55 pounds on Jenny Craig. I am forever grateful to the Jenny Craig program for its support and to my coach, who encouraged me. My weight loss empowered me and shifted the way I view myself, inside and out.

My lifestyle is completely different now. With more energy, I am active and having fun by dancing, hiking and walking my puppy. I focus on my life goals rather than diverting my energy to find ways to hide my weight.

I enjoy trying on clothes that make me feel beautiful and not hidden. I have healthy boundaries and continue to choose self-care, which led me to a life that is better than I could have dreamed of! I reconnected with the man of my dreams from years ago, and we’re now engaged, moving into our dream home in Austin, and becoming a married real estate team! Thankfully, I am back on the path I was meant to travel.
